These paintings derived their structure from the luminist paintings of Fitz Hugh Lane. Luminism focused primarily upon the portrayal of light within a landscape.  Reproductions of his paintings were scanned into a computer and manipulated to amplify the light or luminist quality.  Only now the light is from a digital display rather than a landscape. That extracted, simplified, and remixed essence became the subject matter of the final paintings. The computer images were transferred to canvas using a grid system and painted by hand with acrylic paint.  Here are some of the paintings.
