This series of work were derived from the paintings of Fredrick Church.  I related to the way Church constructed his paintings by piecing together various vignettes (sketches) from his travels into grand scale epic paintings.  My tact was to isolate , amplify, and manipulate in a computer those small detail elements to make them the sole focus of the work.  I was also interested in contrasting the hand-made mark with the machine-made mark.  This was accomplished by first having the images printed on canvas, and then hand painting in acrylic on top of that print.  Here are some of the paintings.  I have included some installation shots of the work mounted at Inman Gallery in Houston, TX. and The Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, LA.
